PORTSMOUTH City Council is asking drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to take extra care using a new road junction.

Work to revamp the junction of Milton Road, Velder Avenue and Rodney Road is almost complete and council contractor Colas is applying the finishing touches.

Assistant head of transport Pam Turton said: ‘The crossing between the Big Yellow self storage premises and Velder Avenue is not in operation so we’re asking pedestrians and cyclists to cross at the south of the junction, by Aerial Telephones, instead.

‘We are reminding drivers that there is no right turn from Velder Avenue into Milton Road. This turn has been banned since November.’
