Fallen tree halts trains

A fallen tree caused disruption to Portsmouth-London trains today.

The Lleylandi was spotted on the northbound track at Havant.

Some services, including the 7:29am Portsmouth - Waterloo train were diverted via Basingstoke.

At just past 8.30am, South West Trains announced that the fallen tree hads been cleared from the lines by response staff and trains were on the move again.

The incident happened as travellers on the south coast line faced severe disruption because of a strike affecting Southern services.
