FLOWERS have been placed close to a spot where a man died after falling in front of a train.
As reported, the incident happened last Friday shortly before 5pm in Hilsea station.
Bunches of flowers have been tied to the railings of the station.
The man has not yet been formally identified by police.
A message on a bunch of flowers read: ‘Dear Richard, now at peace, with love Mandy, Derek and family.’
As a result of the incident, trains in and out of the city were brought to a standstill during rush hour.
It caused disruption for thousands of commuters, with passengers being diverted to buses.
The station and the lines were reopened again at 6.15pm, but delays remained until about 9pm.
The investigation into the death is being led by British Transport Police (BTP).
