A MAN had to be freed from the car he was travelling in and air lifted to hospital after it collided with another vehicle in Stubbington this afternoon.

The ambulance service was called at around 3.40pm with reports that four people were injured.

Paramedics transported three patients to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. Two of the three were thought to have minor injuries though the condition of the third, a woman, is not known.

The trapped patient, a man, was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
