FESTIVE shoppers will have a helping hand with a completely free park and ride service in the run up to Christmas.

Fareham Borough Council and Community Action Fareham will be running the service in Fareham every Saturday from today until Christmas Eve.

There will also be two extra days on Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23 for those wanting to snap up some last-minute bargains.

People will be able to park for free in the car park of Fareham College on Bishopsfield Road and catch the free bus from there to Ferneham Hall.

There will be a bus every 10 minutes, with the first bus leaving the college at 9am and the last bus leaving Ferneham Hall at 5pm.

Councillor Keith Evans, in charge of strategic planning and environment, said: ‘We are pleased that Community Action Fareham is working with us again this year.

‘Using this free park and ride service will not only save residents money but will also help reduce their carbon footprint.’
