A MAN from Gosport has died after his car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the M3.
The tragic incident happened between junction eight and Winchester services on the southbound carriageway at around 10.10pm last night.
The man, who was in his 50s, died at the scene.
He had been driving a Vauxhall which was involved in a crash with another Vauxhall car, which did not stop at the scene.
A 44-year-old, who is believed to be the driver of the second vehicle, was arrested on the M3 near Basingstoke at 11.30pm that evening on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
