A MOTORCYCLIST from Gosport has died after a collision with a 4x4 vehicle.

The 30-year-old man was yesterday travelling east along the B3400 at Andover Down on a silver Triumph Daytona motorcycle when he collided with a green Daihatsu Fourtrak travelling the other way.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident at 6pm.

The 19-year-old driver of the 4x4, from Basingstoke, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.

He suffered head injuries not thought to be life threatening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone who say the vehicles driving before the crash to come forward.

Call the Whitchurch Roads Policing unit on 101, quoting Operation Remit.
