All crossings on the Hayling Ferry have been cancelled today due to weather conditions.

The ferry, which is regularly used by children on the island to get to school in Portsmouth, cancelled all journeys from 7am.

Hayling Ferry Limited hopes crossings will return to normal tomorrow.

Bruce Creme, from the operator, said: ‘We had to make a decision to pull it early so that the schools had enough time to organise other transport.

‘We hope it will be back to normal tomorrow.’
