MOTORISTS have been warned to drive carefully because the bad weather has caused potholes.

West Sussex County Council said the holes are appearing across the county because of flooding during the holiday period. Contractors are working on repairing them.

Lionel Barnard, the council’s deputy leader, said: ‘We are doing everything we can to minimise the impact the wet weather is having on our road network.

‘But in the meantime people need to remember to drive responsibly when faced with flooded roads.’
