Have your say

At long last, after going on for two years, the so-called ‘ease the traffic situation’ on Newgate Lane was fully opened on Monday but what a right hash was made of it (Schemes to update roundabouts start, Aug 17).

Whoever designed these roadworks should be sacked.

We now have two lanes going towards Lee-on-the-Solent with two lanes going into one lane by HMS Collingwood.

Naturally enough you have the white van men and BMW racers rushing to get ahead of other patient drivers, causing a bottleneck, so we are no better off.

Now we have roadworks for a YEAR at Peel Common.

All this money they are wasting trying to ease the traffic when it’s just logical to either have a tunnel or bridge from Gosport to Portsmouth.

But that’s too easy isn’t it?

And they are planning more houses on Daedalus and in Fareham with more cars added to the situation.

I bet I am not the only one who is fuming – it just gets worse.

It’s such a shame because I love living at Lee-on-the-Solent
