South West Trains is providing longer trains in the run-up to Christmas in a bid to accommodate extra passengers.

Extra seats will be available on services running across the area from midday on Friday.

On Christmas Eve, services will finish earlier than normal and details of the last trains from London Waterloo can be found at southwesttrains.co.uk. The firm will continue to run trains throughout Christmas and New Year, with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day, when none will be available.

Jake Kelly, customer service director for the South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance, said: ‘We have planned our services for the festive period very carefully – including adding extra trains and strengthening our services by making some trains longer – to make sure we can get our passengers to where they want to go.’
