POLICE investigating a crash have said a lorry trailer hit a woman’s mobility scooter.

The 75-year-old woman was crossing South Street towards the Gosport Ferry terminal in Gosport on Monday at 12.40pm.

As reported, witnesses heard a bang before seeing the woman fall out of her chair and hit her head on a bollard.

The lorry was being driven north from South Street to Mumby Road.

Police said the air ambulance was called as a precaution and landed near the scene.
