A 23-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical condition after his car overturned near Bishop’s Waltham.

The crash, which involved a blue Ford Fiesta, happened in Botley Road, close to Maple Farm, Curdridge, around 2.40am, yesterday.

A member of the public reported the collision after discovering the car in a field.

A police spokesman said: ‘It’s thought the driver of the car, a 23-year-old man, was travelling south from the direction of Bishop’s Waltham when, for reasons yet to be established, he lost control of his vehicle.’

He was cut from the car by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His family have been informed.
