AN elderly man was injured after falling from his mobility scooter in Pepper Close, Hayling Island.

Emergency services were called at 3.45pm yesterday following the incident.

A police spokesman said the 75-year-old man overturned the scooter in the road.

He was conscious when ambulance crews arrived and he was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham.

Nearby Church Road was closed southbound following the incident.
