A MAN has been taken to hospital after being freed from his car.

An accident involving three cars – a Mazda 626, Volkswagen Bora and Seat Leon – happened just before 8am today on the A3(M) near to the A272 turn off.

The incident caused all lanes of the south bound carriageway to be blocked.

Fire crews from Liphook, Petersfield and Cosham, plus the special equipments unit, were sent.

Firefighters worked for one hour to free one man and make the scene safe.

He was taken to hospital as he was complaining of neck injuries.
