A MAN was airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a car crash near Goodwood.

The 67-year-old was driving north on the A285 shortly after 4.20pm on Thursday.

His black Volkswagen crashed into a blue Mercedes travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver, from Farnham in Surrey, was taken by air ambulance to Kings College hospital in London with serious injuries.

The 63-year-old driver of the Mercedes and his 60-year-old female passenger, both from Maidenhead in Berkshire, suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to St Richard’s hospital in Chichester for treatment. Anyone with information should call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Henbury.
