TWO men were taken to hospital after the Land Rover they were travelling in veered off the highway and into a cornfield.

Firefighters were called to the incident in Froxfield, near Petersfield, at 11.37pm yesterday.

Two crews from Petersfield’s retained station and a third crew and the special equipment unit from Cosham freed the men from the vehicle, after they had been trapped inside.

The 18 firefighters used hydraulic lifting gear to get the men out, before they were taken to hospital for treatment.

Crews left the scene at 1.03am this morning.
