TWO motorcyclists were involved in accidents on opposite sides of the M27 between Portsmouth and Fareham at almost the same time.
The accident westbound between junctions 12 and 11 happened at 7.43am involving a car and a motorcycle.
The eastbound accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle happened at 7.36am between junctions 11 and 12, blocking two lanes of the motorway.
A police spokesman said only minor injuries were reported from both accidents.
Both crashes caused long delays for rush-hour commuters, with queues building up from Hedge End in the west and back to the A27 near Havant in the east.
Long queues soon built up on other roads, particularly the A27, as drivers avoided the motorway.
Highways England confirmed at around 8.30am that all lanes on the M27 had been reopened, but delays remained.
