DELAYS are expected on one of Portsmouth’s busiest roundabouts from next week.
Lane closures will be in place on the Rudmore roundabout from Monday.
The works, set to finish in autumn, are part of the £28m project to build the new M275 motorway junction in Tipner.
The project includes a southbound bus lane running from Tipner to Rudmore and traffic lights on the roundabout.
Officials at Portsmouth City Council said approaching roads would have more lanes open during peak times so disruption is kept to a minimum.
Simon Brownlie, traffic and network manager, said: ‘The work is part of our plan to improve traffic flow throughout the city and keep congestion to a minimum.
‘We’re sorry for the disruption this will cause and appreciate drivers’ patience and co-operation while we make these improvements.’
