The M3-M27 junction in Hampshire was reopened this morning after it was closed for several hours following an accident.

A lorry left the carriageway at the linkroad joining the motorways near Southampton, and rolled down the embankment.

As a result the M27 was closed eastbound at junction 14 for the M3 and the M3 junction 4 from around 11.30pm last night.

The southbound carriageway of the M3 was also closed to allow for recovery work to take place.

The driver escaped with minor injuries, police have said.

The road was reopened at about 6.30am but police warned that some delays were likely in the area.
