A WOMAN has paid tribute to her neighbour who was killed in a car accident.

Hilda Cubberley died following the collision on the A32 in Droxford on Friday evening.

The 79-year-old, from Station Close in Wickham, died on Saturday afternoon.

Cynthia Bond, 81, said: ‘She always rang me to find out how I was.

‘I walked into the paper shop this morning and they told me. I couldn’t believe it.

‘They were a very nice couple.’

Mrs Cubberley was the front seat passenger in a red Rover when it was in collision with a grey Volvo V40 on the A32, shortly before 5.50pm.

Her 75-year-old husband, who was driving the car, is still in hospital suffering from serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Volvo V40, an 18-year-old man, from Soberton, was uninjured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Rob Heard at Eastleigh on 101, quoting Operation Hansen.
