THERE have been more than 25 arrivals at Southampton Airport in the first three months of the year.
But rather than additional planes coming into land, the arrivals have swelled the ranks of the airport staff following a careers fair earlier this year.
The 25 new staff join the team of 1,200 people employed by the airport.
Their roles are in areas including ground handling, check-in, fire service, customer service, and retail as well as specialists in environment, health and safety, IT, procurement and finance.
Caroline Morton, head of HR for the airport, said: ‘As we are one of the region’s largest employers, we wanted to provide a more joined-up way of recruiting staff across the 30 different companies at the airport.’
There will be more job vacancies available at Southampton Airport through 2011, in a variety of areas.
