MOTORISTS faced long tailbacks on the M27 after a lorry overturned.

The incident happened at 2.20pm today on the westbound carriage of the M27 near Rownhams Services, between Junction 4 and 3.

A large container lorry flipped after its tyre burst.

The driver got out with slight injuries. No other vehicle was involved.

A lane of the motorway was closed while recovery took place.

The crash barrier is damaged and the Highways Agency will be conducting repairs.

Police left the scene at 4.20pm.
