A WOMAN has been left with serious head injuries after being hit by a car.

The collision happened on Peak Lane, Fareham at around 3.20pm today.

The road was partially closed as the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was scrambled and landed in the road.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘The BASICS doctor on board assessed the patient and she has been conveyed by land ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital with a head injury.’

The road reopened at around 4.15pm. The woman’s injuries, while serious, are described as being non life-threatening.
