A person was hit by a train near Bedhampton railway station.

The incident happened at around 6am today.

All train services through the area were suspended while emergency services attend the incident.

A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: ’BTP, Hampshire police and ambulance attended the line at Bedhampton Railway Station, West Street, after a report that a person had

been struck by a train.

‘Officers a ttended the incident, which was reported to police at 6.02am and it is currently being treated as non-suspicious. BTP, are currently seeking to identify the person and next of kin.

‘A file is currently being prepared for the coroner’s office. This was the 1N03 0538 Barnham to Portsmouth service.’
