A COMMITMENT has been made to introduce traffic calming measures to an area used as a rat-run by motorists.

Portsmouth City Council will assess what the best plan of action is for Henderson Road, Eastney, is over the coming months.

The action is a victory for residents, who have campaigned for 10 years to have something in place to stop speeding drivers.

Lib Dem councillor Matthew Winnington, who represents the area, had requested that work be done this summer in order to prevent more drivers causing problems.
