Police deal with abusive youths at train station

POLICE were sent to deal with scores of abusive youths at a railway station this evening.

A group of 55 youngsters on their way to a disco at Liquid & Envy Nightclub in Portsmouth were confronted by officers as they got off a train at Portsmouth and Southsea railway station.

The youths had alcohol with them but no action was taken.

The incident happened at about 6.15pm.

British Transport Police said it would monitor what happens when they get back on the train later.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: ‘A group of youths heading towards this nightclub were stopped at Portsmouth and Southsea railway station.

‘When they come out of the club we will monitor passenger flow.’
