Rail operator '˜very sorry'

A RAIL operator says it is '˜very sorry' for the disruption its passengers faced due to the impact of Storm Doris on Thursday.

South West Trains, which provides services in the Portsmouth area, issued a public apology yesterday saying that while the storm was only supposed to have a ‘minimal impact’, it ended up in a large number of incidents that affected the service due to high winds blowing debris across lines in multiple locations.

The statement read: ‘We know that many of you will not have been able to make or complete your journeys as a result of the disruption. We fully appreciate how frustrating it is when your train service doesn’t run as planned and we are extremely grateful for your patience and support during the disruption.’
