DOZENS of people turned out to view proposals for a new two-mile bypass in Stubbington at Lee-on-the-Solent Community Centre.

A number of improvements worth £90m have been proposed to make access to the Gosport peninsula easier, including improvements to the A27 from Segensworth to Fareham.

Derek Long, who lives in Lee-on-the-Solent, said there are some concerns but many people are in favour of the bypass.

‘I think the vast majority of people are in favour of it because it will alleviate a lot of traffic.

‘It has taken a long time to get here to this stage,’ he said.

The next consultation event will be held at Fareham Academy on Monday from 4pm to 7pm.ypass.
