A MAN was left trapped in his car after a collision on the A27 eastbound at Broadmarsh, Havant.
Firefighters worked to free the 68-year-old man, whose car overturned during the collision and landed on its side.
A second person, a woman in her 40s, suffered minor injuries in the crash, which happened shortly after 5pm, and wasn’t cleared until almost two hours later.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance had been scrambled, but was later stood down.
He said: ‘The man who was trapped will be taken by land ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital, as will the other person who was hurt.’
At their peak queues stretched back to junction 11 eastbound, the Fareham and Gosport turning.
