HAMPSHIRE County Council’s programme of weather-proofing the areas roads is coming to Fareham.

As part of Operation Resilience – which seeks to maintain and strengthen roads – resurfacing work will be taking place in Broadcut, Fareham, next week.

Weather permitting work is set to start on Wednesday, May 16 and is expected to last for three nights.

To carry out the work safely the council said the road will be closed to traffic overnight – after and before the evening and morning rush hours.

A spokeswoman said the council apologises for any inconvenience caused while the work is undertaken.

Councillor Mel Kendal, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: ‘Good roads are a vital component of Hampshire’s infrastructure, essential for economic progress and the county’s prosperity and this is the biggest project of its kind.’
