DRIVERS have been urged to slow down as they come across road works in a hard-hitting safety campaign.

Hampshire Constabulary has joined Hampshire County Council in support of the My Family Works Here campaign developed by Amey, Hampshire’s highways maintenance firm.

Signs show Amey staff with family members and slogans such as ‘Slow Down! Kill your speed not my daddy’ and ‘Slow Down! My wife works here’.

Inspector Martin Goodall, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: ‘We will follow up on reports of poor or dangerous driving from the workers and take action.’
