Highways England has issued this list of roadworks planned in the south next week.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 3 and 2 overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Monday 23 November for five nights. On Friday night the work will be carried out between 10pm and 6am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322 and A30 to the M25 junction 13.

The M3 southbound junction 3 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Monday 23 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322 and A30.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times across the Black Dam roundabout near Basingstoke continues this week. Narrow lanes, a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures are in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until March 2016.

M3 junctions 6 Basingstoke to 9 Winchester, Hampshire: Bridge waterproofing

Work to improve safety by replacing the bridge’s waterproof surface and expansion joints continues this week. Narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit will be in place in both directions between junctions 6 and 9 until mid-December.

The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 5 and 9 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 24 November. The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 7 and 5 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 26 November. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 5 and 7 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 27 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A30 or next available junction.

M3 junction 9 Winchester, Hampshire: Vehicle detector technology installation

Work to maintain safety on slip roads in Hampshire takes place this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 25 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 10.

M3 to M27 link road Chilworth, Hampshire: Communications technology replacement

Work to maintain safety by replacing communications technology continues this week. The southbound link road from the M3 to the eastbound M27 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 23 November for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M27 junction 2.

M4 junctions 7 Slough to 8/9 Maidenhead, Berkshire: Structure surveys

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys takes place this week. The outside two lanes on both the east and westbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 23 November for 4 nights.

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: Drainage

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will start this week. Lane 1 on both the east and westbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 24 November for 3 nights.

M4 junction 12 Reading, Berkshire: Street lighting

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys and maintaining the street lighting continues this week. Various lane closures will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways and on all slip roads at junction 12 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 1 December (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire to 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: Drainage

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will start this week. Lane closures on both the east and westbound carriageways will be in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Friday 27 November for 4 nights (Monday to Friday only).

M27 junction 1 Cadnam, Hampshire: Vehicle detector technology installation

Work to maintain safety on slip roads in Hampshire takes place this week. The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 27 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 2.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh and junction 7 Hedge End, Hampshire: Slip road inspections

Work to improve safety takes place this week with the detailed inspection of slip roads along the M27 in Hampshire.

The junction 7 westbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 16 November.

The junction 5 eastbound exit and junction 7 eastbound entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 17 November.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next available junction.

A3 Liphook to Longmoor, Hampshire: Road marking renewal

Work to improve safety by renewing the white lines on the A3 in Hampshire takes place this week. The southbound carriageway between Liphook and Longmoor will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 23 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070.

A3 Hampshire: Vegetation maintenance

Work to improve safety on slip roads along the A3 in Hampshire takes place this week.

The Sheet northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 25 November.

The Weston southbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 26 November.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the next available junction.

A3(M) junction 3 Hulbert Road and 4 Purbrook Way, Hampshire: Slip road markings

Work to improve safety takes place this week by renewing the white lining on slip roads along the A3(M). The junction 3 northbound entry slip road and junction 4 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 25 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the B2150.

A34 Winchester to Three Maids Hill (A272), Hampshire: Structure surveys

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys takes place this week. Lane 2 on both the north and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Sunday 29 November for 4 nights.

A34 Chieveley, West Berkshire to Highclere, Hampshire: Resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway will take place this week. The southbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 26 November, with a clearly signed diversion in place via Newbury.

A34 Milton Interchange (A4130), Oxfordshire to East Ilsley, West Berkshire: Carriageway repairs

Work to improve safety by repairing defects found on the southbound carriageway will take place this week. The southbound carriageway from the Milton Interchange to East Ilsley will be fully closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 23 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the M40, A404 and M4 for motorway permitted vehicles, and via Wantage and Shefford Woodlands for non-motorway vehicles.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: Junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

Work to improve safety by repairing defects found on the northbound carriageway will take place this week. The northbound carriageway from the Hinksey Hill junction to the Botley Interchange will be fully closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 27 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the Oxford ring-road.

A34 Peartree Interchange (A44) to Kidlington, Oxfordshire: Carriageway repairs

Work to improve safety by repairing defects found on the northbound carriageway will take place this week. The northbound carriageway from the Peartree Interchange to Kidlington will be fully closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 26 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A40 and M40 for motorway permitted vehicles, and via Kidlington village for non-motorway vehicles.

A34 Abingdon to Oxford, Oxfordshire: Drainage surveys

Work to improve journeys by carrying out surveys to the drainage system continues this week. A lane on both the north and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 11 December (Monday to Friday only).

In addition, the following slip roads will be fully closed this week with clearly signed diversions in place via the next junction:

Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 November: northbound slips for North Hinksey and South Hinksey

Wednesday 25 November: northbound exit slip road at Hinksey Hill and the northbound slips for North Hinksey and South Hinksey

Thursday 26 November: northbound entry slip road at Abingdon

A303 Hampshire: Vegetation management

Work to improve journeys by cutting back overgrown vegetation takes place this week. Mobile lane closures will be in place at various locations along the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 23 November for 2 nights.

A404 Berkshire and Buckinghamshire: Vegetation management
