FIREFIGHTERS had to pull a car from a cashpoint in a garage forecourt after the elderly driver lost control of the vehicle.

The accident happened at 9am yesterday when the driver’s foot slipped and hit the accelerator causing it to plough into the cashpoint at the Shell Garage, in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea.

The cashpoint was badly damaged but the driver was treated at the scene for shock and taken home uninjured.
