SIX cars were damaged and three people injured in a high-speed crash in a residential street.

Hampshire police said a Citroen Xantia was being driven at high-speed in 20mph limit Harleston Road, Wymering, Portsmouth, when it crashed.

Another driver in a park Peugeot tried to move off when the Citroen crashed into the nearside of Peugeot.

It was then pushed into the back of a parked Nissan Pathfinder and Vauxhall Corsa.

The Peugeot shunted forward and hit a parked Mistsubishi L200 and Citroen Xsara.

The man sitting in the Corsa suffered severe whiplash, the driver of the Xantia suffered facial injuries.

Passengers in the car being driven at high speed got out and ran off.

It happened at 7.45pm last night.

n A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
