AN ACCIDENT involving two cars and a motorcycle caused delays on the M27.

The incident took place on the west bound carriageway, just before junction 11, near Fareham.

Hampshire Constabulary say they were called at 7.49am and closed the middle and outer lanes, while the vehicles were moved over to the hard shoulder.

A Honda motorcycle, a silver BMW and a blue Audi were involved.

Police say the motorcyclist has been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, after suffering injuries, not thought to be life threatening.

All lanes were reopened at 8.24am, but caused major tailbacks during the morning rush hour.

There were also 20-minute delays on the east bound M27 carriageway from Segensworth and Whiteley. The A3(M) south bound is also reported to be slow.

Meanwhile on the A27, Southampton Road in Portchester is partially blocked in both directions near the junction of Clement Atlee Way near Tesco due to another accident.
