GRATEFUL Janet White gave train staff a box of chocolates after they helped her find her husband’s hat.

Mrs White, of Widley, was walking to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard with her husband Peter when a gust of wind blew his hat off his head and over the wall of an old signal box near Portsmouth Harbour station.

A few days later staff at Network Rail’s track maintenance depot in Havant called the couple to say the hat had been handed in. Mrs White presented staff with a box of chocs when she picked it up last week.
