TRAIN services between Fareham and Southampton faced delays this morning due to a kitchen sink was on the track.

South West Trains Tweeted about the incident and said: ‘There is a speed restriction in place on the #Netley line due to debris (kitchen sink) on the track. Trains may be subject to delays.’

The operator Tweeted again shortly after to say an engineer was on the way to clear the kitchen sink, and also published the above picture of the debris left on the track.

The sink was clear by around 1.30pm, and South West Trains Tweeted: ‘CLEARED #Netley: Disruption caused has now ended. Trains are no longer affected. (Kitchen sink now removed).’
