TRAVEL services are disrupted this morning as a patch of fog hangs low around the Portsmouth area.

Wightlink travel between Portsmouth and Fishbourne is delayed by 25 minutes because of poor visibility.

Hovertravel is also operating a shuttle service. In a statement on its website, Hovertravel said: ‘Arrivals and departures are occurring as frequently as possible but not to our standard timetable.’

According to Romanse, Hampshire County Council’s traffic monitor, motorists on the M27 between junctions nine at Fareham to junction four at the M3 connection, face delays of around 50 minutes.

Dodwell Lane in Bursledon is also closed due to an accident between the A27 and M27 junction eight.

Romanse reports delays on the A27 to Windhover roundabout has a 25 minute delays.

Police officers at Park Gate station asked motorists to be cautious when driving through the fog.

They tweeted: ‘Lots of fog in the area. Please remember #lights #speed #distance... basics save lives, slow it down #SaferRoads.’
