A TYRE blowout caused a disruption on a major Portsmouth road today.

A police spokesman said a tyre on a heavy lorry blew on a southbound lane of the M275 at Tipner just after 2pm.

The Highways Agency was called in to clear debris created by the blowout, and one lane was closed while traffic was diverted around the vehicle.

The spokesman said the lane was reopened at 2.37pm.
