A DRIVER was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after crashing his van into a lamp post.

The man was driving a red Renault along Petersfield Road, Havant, when hit a street light near the junction of Wakefords Way.

Firefighters from Havant fire station and paramedics arrived at about 11.30pm on Saturday.

The man was removed from the wreckage on a spinal board before being taken by ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
