A LEAKING water pipe will mean road works on a busy Fareham road.

The pipe sprang a leak on Gudge Heath Lane, near to the junction of Blackbrook Lane, over the weekend.

A spokesman from Portsmouth Water said: ‘There’s a small leak on the main. We are now discussing how best to repair that. We would need to install traffic lights as it is such a busy road. There is no risk of the main bursting.’

Hampshire County Council, which looks after the borough’s roads, said it would also be assessing the state of the road to see if repairs are needed.
