POLICE have arrested a woman after she climbed over a railway barrier on a footbridge this afternoon.

Passengers were delayed by around 20 minutes when South West Trains warned their drivers to be cautious around the overbridge at New Lane, in Havant.

The young woman was taken into custody because police feared she might try and throw herself on to the track.

Officers arrived at around 5pm and train services quickly returned to normal.
