FIREFIGHTERS had to cut a woman free from her car after it flipped over.

It is believed the driver of a Vauxhall Astra lost control at the Winston Churchill Avenue roundabout, in Southsea, at around 3.32am on Saturday.

A female passenger in her 40s was trapped when the vehicle turned over, and firefighters took around an hour to cut the side open and release her.

She was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, along with the driver and another passenger.

None is believed to have been seriously hurt.
