A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars.

The accident happened in Grove Road with its junction of Heritage Way in Gosport at 12.10pm.

A Fiat Punto pulled out to cross Grove Road when it collided with a Kia Sportage, which was travelling along the road.

Police had closed one lane of Grove Road to Reeds Road while the debris was cleared but it has now been re-opened.

The 64-year-old woman has been taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Fiat Punto was treated for shock at the scene.

A traffic light column has also been damaged in the crash.
