A WOMAN has been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital after suffering head and leg injuries.

The pedestrian was in collision with a car in Anglesea Road, Landport, Portsmouth, at 4.09pm.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was sent to the scene, along with two ambulances and an ambulance officer.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called to an incident involving a pedestrian and a car.

‘A female in her 20s has been taken to QA, in Cosham, by land ambulance with leg and head injuries, which are thought to be serious.’

Anglesea Road was closed in both directions between the junctions of Edinburgh Road and Park Road by Hampshire Constabulary at 4.13pm.

The road was reopened at 5.15pm, but is causing delays along the route.
