Workmen have started repairs on an underground fault in a busy Southsea street.

Portsmouth City Council contractors Colas said part of Osborne Road has sunk near its junction with Elphinstone Road because the ground underneath has become structurally unsafe.

Emergency repair work started last night and the road will close for further repairs tonight.

A signed diversion will be in place via Clarence Parade, Clarendon Road, Osborne Road and Portland Road.
