CONTROVERSIAL street bollards are set to be raised again from 10am on Monday.

The transponder-controlled bollards on Yew Tree Drive in Whiteley have been lowered since early February.

They have been kept down since an ambulance couldn’t get through them on an emergency call for a two-year-old.

Fareham council leader Sean Woodward said: ‘All the local ambulances do have transponders, and those that come from outside the area will have different instruction on their satnavs. They will be rerouted through junction nine.’
