THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised to pay for a much-loved man’s funeral.

Jon Driscoll, known as Fat Beast, was well-known for his topless warm-up act with indie band Carter USM.

The club promoter, who grew up in Waltham Chase, died of septicaemia on Sunday aged 52.

An internet appeal has raised more then £5,500 to pay for the cost of his funeral, which is expected to take place next month.

Mr Driscoll was a Saints fan and was often seen wearing their strip and at games.
