ADVENTUROUS people are being offered the chance to take part in a fundraising triathlon with a twist.

The 10th Wightlink Wight Challenge wants teams of three to compete over a 19-mile bike ride, a two-mile canoe, before finishing with an eight-mile run – all while raising cash for a trio of regional charities.

The Fareham-based Rainbow Centre, which cares for people with motor skills problems, Sail4Cancer and Wessex Heartbeat have been picked as this year’s beneficiaries.

The event takes place on the Isle of Wight on May 19, starting and finishing in Porchfield.
